Replacement Filter for the Austin Air Bedroom Machine
The 5 years of filter life is up in the Bedroom Machine air purifier and you need to replace it. All you need to do is order the replacement, follow the directions on how to change it (click on the PDF below for easy step-by-step instructions), and let it run another 5 years! Sounds too easy, doesn't it? But it's not!
Like all Austin Air filters, the Bedroom Machine replacement filter is designed to last up to 5 years under normal residential use. So you just have to wait another five years to replace again.
Are you unsure of the size of your filter? Check by looking for a label on the bottom of the unit. Model HM400 indicates standard size filter. If still unsure, measure the filter size which should be 14.5" high.
Changing the filter and want to try a different one? All standard size units are interchangeable with all standard size filters. So, if you purchased a HealthMate Plus and would like to upgrade to the Bedroom Machine filter, you can replace your old HealthMate filter with a new Allergy Machine filter.

The 5 Stages of The Bedroom Machine's Replacement Filter
Stage 1 — Particles easily seen by the naked eye such as dust, hair, and pet dander. are removed by the large pre-filter. This first line of defense helps the carbon and HEPA filter last longer and is made of bonded polyester.
Stage 2 — Also made of bonded polyester, the medium particle pre-filter removes small to medium size particles such as molds, spores, and pollen.
Stage 3 — The Activated Carbon and Zeolite removes the chemicals, gases, and VOCs. While removing these, the carbon filter teams up with the HEPA to get rid of most unseen pollutants. It is over 780 cubic inches and no one offers more.
Stage 4 — The True Medical Grade HEPA removes 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and 95% of all particles larger than 0.1 microns. This stage effectively removes viruses, bacteria, and allergens. It is an industry-leading 60 sq. ft. of filter to make sure it captures and removes all particles.
Stage 5 — The Bedroom Machine is the only Austin Air Purifier with a fifth stage in the filtration process. The Military-Grade HEGA Carbon Cloth (High Efficiency Gas Arrestance) provides an extremely large surface area for adsorption of chemicals, gases, viruses, and bacteria.
