AllerAir's Filtration System in the AirMed 3 Supreme
Pre-filter — The pre-filter removes larger particles from your air and can prolong the life of your HEPA and carbon filters by absorbing those particles. Replacing the pre-filter should be done every two to three months.
Super HEPA Filter — The HEPA filter captures the fine dust, allergens, pollen, smoke and other particles that linger around the air you breathe in. It can remove at least 99.99% of airborne particles measuring 0.1 microns or larger. Crazy to think about, right? The super HEPA filter is considered one of the safest and most efficient method for eliminating particles. It will last around 2 years before a replacement will be needed.
Activated Carbon Filter — AllerAir is a industry expert in activated carbon and they are built with maximum depth and dwell time. The carbon filtration stage acts to neutralize, adsorb and remove airborne chemicals, gases and odors. With larger carbon filtration, the more chemicals it will be able to adsorb and give you the fresh air you want. This should be replaced every 2-5 years depending on usage.
UV Light Upgrade Option — Option to customize the AirMed 3 Supreme air purifier by adding a UV (ultra violet) germicidal lamp. The UV light works by breaking down microorganisms and disrupting their DNA, making them unable to reproduce and in effect, "kills" or neutralizes them. This is excellent for controlling airborne mold mycotoxins, bacteria and viruses.
