Workplace Wellness Management On Twitter

Recommend this page to a Friend

We have been spreading our wings by attempting to serve those interested in the workplace wellness and health promotion no matter where they are. While we are not using homing pigeons, we have established a presence on Twitter.

Twitter, some are saying, may be a passing fad. Who knows? But in the meantime it is a good laboratory to test different ways of reaching an audience.

I can see wellness programs creating short health and wellness messages – they have to be short only 140 characters are permitted – aimed at their members. It could be tips on weight loss or smoking cessation, for instance.

We started our ‘experiences' on Twitter to see what we could learn from Social Networking. It's been interesting so far. As of today I have 340 followers, dramatically short of Ashton Kutcher's 1 million followers on Twitter. Nevertheless, that figure is not so bad since I am not a movie star.

But there may be opportunities here to promote your wellness program or to send brief messages to those members of your wellness program. "Hey, ya never know!"

If you are on Twitter, here again is how you can follow us:
Go to http://twitter.com/wellnessadviser and click on the box that says "Follow."

If you or your wellness program is on Twitter now, let us know about it. Send us a "Tweet." If you are doing something new or testing an idea on Twitter let us know about that too. If it is interesting, we can "ReTweet" it to our followers.
